Mission Manifesto | Pastor Colby Rohde | Island Christian Church

 • Series: Who Is Jesus?

Jesus’ mission was never about maintaining appearances, it was about restoration. When He saw the crowds, His heart was moved with compassion because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. His mission wasn’t just to heal bodies but to heal souls. He came to proclaim good news to the poor, freedom to the captives, and sight to the blind. But the power of His mission wasn’t just in kind actions, it was in proclamation. Being kind to the hurting is good, but without the truth of the Gospel, it only provides temporary relief. True transformation comes when broken hearts are restored through Christ. Yet, just as in Jesus’ hometown, many reject that message. They want a God who fits their expectations, not a Savior who calls them to repentance and faith. God is in the business of restoration, taking the broken pieces of our lives and making them whole. He sees value in what’s been shattered. He doesn’t just repair; He transforms. The question is, will you let Him? Will you allow Him to take your brokenness and make it into something new? Jesus came for the broken, because He loves the process of making all things new.
