Faithful For Generations | Pastor Chris Coats | Island Christian Church

 • Series: Into The Wilderness

Do you have a favorite Bible verse? There are a few verses that are so famous that they have become part of our culture. Whether you see John 3:16 behind a field goal or Philippians 4:13 at the gym, verses like these shape how we see and understand God. We are going to talk about one of the most quoted passages in the whole Bible: Exodus 34:6-7. It may not roll off the tongue like Psalm 23 (“the Lord is my Shepherd”) or Jeremiah 29:11 (“For I know the plans I have for you…”), but the authors of the Bible quote it over nad over because it is God’s own description of who He is. He is merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and overflowing with steadfast love and faithfulness. Come hear how this truth shapes our lives today and how we can build a legacy of faith for generations to come! We’ll also tackle a big question—does God punish future generations for their parents' sins? The answer reveals both His justice and His overwhelming mercy.
